Just because it's technically possible to spin unwashed fiber doesn't mean you should.

I warp from front to back. There is always a little twisting, but I can usually straighten things out when I tie on in the back. I also use lease sticks to provide more tension between the back beam and the heddles. The sticks help straighten out any twists in the warp. Warping can be frustrating. I think the most important thing is to have good, even tension. Good luck!

Me, too. All that twist works to the front of the loom when winding onto the back beam and I comb it out as I go. I straighten out the very last of it when I tie onto the front rod.

I think tiny booties are nice to hang on a tree at baby's first Christmas. Or, the whole ensemble could be put on a doll or stuffed animal for a precious memento.

I haven't made this shawl yet, but am eager to do so. I plan to use "forgiving" yarn and actually enjoy pointy lace edgings. Thanks for sharing yours. It looks great to me!

Loveit! I always wear it over at least a long sleeve tee shirt in the winter. I use it for hooking on canvas, too.

It's beautiful! I hope you haven't cut the fringe yet because you have plenty for a a double or triple o more knotted finish.

It's not just your own lifespan but also changing circumstances one should be prepared for. You might be homebound and unemployed for years caring for a loved one, and that stash just might have to see you through.

To be one's own apprentice and one's own master lead to less than optimal development, methinks. It's better than drifting, tho!
