A comment re the wires - for straight edges, not pointy lacy knit ends . . my mother was a florist, and I used her wires used for arranging - the very stiff ones, covered in plastic so no issues of rust or snagging - very inexpensive . . I've been using the same ones "forever" - pin down at each end, and the straight line is easy to block.
Hi - I plan on making the Lee Gant baby cabled tunic. Recently (second half of August ?) , one of you posted a finished dress in a lovely dark pink color . . . and I remember you said that you had used a different yarn than the pattern specified. Cotton maybe ? This is for a Texas baby (next spring) - and so a cotton substitute could be good. I tried a search . . . but hoping one of you can find and re-send me that posting, or a link to it. Thanks for the help. You can pm me, unless someone else might be interested too . . . . RJM
That is the pattern - row 31 is where the ears get formed - first ear is fine, but stitch count to ear#2 doesn't make sense - I guess I'll just wing it .. haha
Thanks - it just says the correction for that row will be "coming soon "
Yeah - I did - and the book site says it is "coming soon"😎
For the owl hat, in the Monster knits for Little Monsters book - I recently saw a question about line 31 -but can't find it - and indeed, the stitch count is off in that part. Can someone find that message and/or send the clarification for line 31 ? Thanks !
My favorite latest little idea is to use sticky notes - and just put the note where I left off and/or under the next line of a chart - that way I don't muck up my patterns with little ink marks, and I can write notes to myself on the stickies - like, don't forget you have to change colors after this row - or something. It is so simple and has made knitting life so much easier !
So sad - I'm in Calif, but if you pm me your address and the yarn you want, I will send to you - and you can "pay it forward" baby one day !!
nice color ! - i've made this not to wear as an accessory, but for use in the kitchen as pot-holders - make good gifts at Christmas !
What size are you making the squares - im starting a similar prof and trying to plan - thx ! R
When I was out kayaking, I pulled into shore, and was waiting for my ride back, and this nice woman taught me how to make knitted swiffer covers ! I actually think this is funny, but I made them for my kids for Christmas stocking stuffers - and they LOVE them - such a quicky little idea . . .
Definitely baby hats - variations on the apple one - perhaps purple (eggplant) or orange (pumpkin) or whatever I have - so quick and easy to whip up and then I'm ready for the next baby arrival ...
