On the news program this week this Clothing Designer was discussing how Knitting is "so in". He is working with other designers for Fashion Week in New York. He brought with him "designer scarves and sweaters" a couple of the scarves caught my eye with the Interviewer asked how much were the scarves he was pointing at. "Mr. show off" said that the scarves were to expensive for the Interviewer and hard to make. The scarves were plain old garter stitch! It look like 10 blue stitches on the left hand side and 20 cream color yarn stitches on the right. That was it! But why it is expensive, the yarn is cashmere.
What about leave a flyer of your knitting with pictures at the supermarket, church, bus stop.
Just a suggestion.
Beautiful ! Where can I find the pattern? I love "just because" presents!!!
Years ago, a co-worker told me that his wife and his mother-in-law wouldn't eat mango and did want it in the house. So I bought one for him and he ate it at work. He loved it. Now he is a closet mango eatter.
As for the yarn, it must be the color of yarn to be called Mango. Love that color anyway.
While riding on the NY subway to work, I notice a high school or college student (a boy) knitting a hat. Besides me noticing the student was a NYPD cop and stockbroker in a striking suit.
The stockbroker says to the cop, " isn't that ridiculous, man knitting". The cop turn to him and said, "my father is a tailor". "Maybe he sewn that suit you have on".
Me and a couple ladies laugh. The stockbroker walked to the other side of the train.
Some people are so "entitled" in their own minds.
I switch from knitting to crochet. I stop crochet for a long while and discovered that my crochet hooks (aluminum) was irritating my hands. So I bought bamboo crochet hooks and I am back to crochet. But I switch back to Knitting because I bought some fun knitting needles. They light up! Maybe you should get so fun knitting needles and try small projects. I tried and conquer entrelac knitting.
When I flew to Switzerland and Africa I had NO problems with my crochet hooks and Circular knit needles! But scissors (even the metal tiny ones) they do not like. But I had no problems with my plastic scissors. The children plastic scissors I use to cut the yarn.
Great idea. I would stop in the grocery store every day to buy a bag of ice for my nightly Ice tea!
Aluminum needles bother my hands. I love the feel of wooden needles.
I am the type that goes into a store, see what I want, buy it and waiting in the car for everyone else!
Thank you all! I just bought saran wrap and got a few cups ready with apple cider and soap deterent. Let see what happens.
Because of the warm weather in New York (I am not complaining) but I see a lot of fruit flies in my house and lots of gnats outside around my bushes. Any sure fire way to kill these pesky flies. I tried the apple cider method but this does not work. I got smart fruit flies that fly around the bowl and like to stay on the ceiling. Any suggestions?
I leave all my fruits in the refrigerator but they are still there. Is there a homemade product, I can make and spray on them?
I am a dog person. One day my lawn service found a kitten in my back yard. The kitten eyes wasn't even open. I brought the cat to my vet and they gave the kitten to a "Rich" lady. Now the cat, named Sally Ann, lives in a 5 bedroom house and has a rinestone collar. I bet her mother and siblings are sorry they left Sally Ann behind!!
I bought on sale a chenille sweater and wore it for a photo shoot. Boy I did not know this bad boy can SHED!!! Any where I sat, walked and even in the bathroom I sheded. Never again. And someone gave be a hank of chenille. I promptly return it!
Try crocheting. Or give knitting a try again but try easier and smaller projects. Instead of knitting an afghan, try small scarfs. For crochet, grannies squares. Hope this helps.
