About user:
Occupation: homemaker Interests: knitting, crocheting, reading, movies, spending time with my family & grand children Biography: I was born & raised in Toronto, Ontario. I have 2 stepsons,1 son, 12 grand children. Hubby & I moved to Lappe, just outside of Thunder Bay and live on the original property that his family homesteaded when they came to Canada from Finland in 1904. Just in time to celebrate my 49th birthday I found out that I had been adopted. I cannot remember not knitting and crocheting and remember Nanny my great aunt teaching me how to make doilies with thread crochet and also tatting though I don't remember how to tat. She also taught me embroidery and I remember doing lots of pillow cases & tea towels but have not done that in years. My mother & her mother taught me how to knit. I was in a car accident back in October 2001 and suffered permanent injuries including nerve damage to the left arm and hand which is getting progressively worse. As a result I discovered dishcloths/washcloths and started knitting and crocheting again and learned how to do everything even with the limitations I have. Thanks to wonderful groups like this, you tube videos, how to videos etc I have been able to expand my knowledge of knitting & crocheting beyond simple easy to do patterns and have even designed a few dishcloths as well as an owl hat and purse that are free on ravelry. I recently took Stacey's craftsy course to learn how to make amigurumi and loved it and now have a really long list of to does from the grand children. My sister is now a grand mother, so I am a great aunt and I also have a nice long to do list for Hailey. Website:
