I'm on the lookout for a knitting machine or two. I've been told that the Passaps are the Rolls Royce of knitting machines and therefore desire one.
I know there is a pink one (Rosie) and a green one. Now I've been told that there is a grey one. Apparently Pfaff and Elna has had a hand in making these machines. I don't know much about them except pink came first then apparently the green one. Grey! I'd never heard of this before this morning. If it exists, where does it fit into the scheme of things?
Could you lovely knowledgable ladies and gents of the knitting machine world please fill me in with some details please. I cannot find any reference to a grey Passat duomatic 80 on either Google or YouTube. Is someone pulling my leg about this? If they do exist, what are they capable of doing and are parts still available anywhere?

Yes, there is grey one and red or brownish one. I just got green one and searching around I saw info on Passaps/colors and when they were build etc. If I find it again I post it.

The Passap branded machines have green locks (carriages), the Pfaff machines have brown locks and I think the later machines have grey ones. They are all Duomatic 80's.

Crickey, that was a brilliant find and most interesting read. I never realised there were so many changes made to the machine over the years. At least I now know that there was a grey duomatic and the rough timeline in which it was created. I'm frankly quite amazed that so many different colours were made including a blue one!

I just sold my Passap DM80 It was green. Purchased it new early 80's

The grey passap duo 80 had ELNA stamped on it but was the same machine as the green duo80

The grey model is the same as the green DM80, except that the grey model is "jubilee" model.
