Hi,
I just bought a Brother KH 521, new in the box. It's gorgeous! I will post pictures as soon as I can. The weights are beautifully crafted little things! The entire contents are individually wrapped in paper, so I haven't taken anything else out of the box.

I looked online for information about the KH-521 and couldn't find a thing.

Fellow machine knitters, I am hoping you will share what you know about this model?

It came from the lady who purchased it new, in Japan. The instruction book is printed in Japanese, too. I am assuming it's 1970'S?

Hi Gertrude, I had a KH 600 which was bought early in 1973 so I'd guess that your KH 521 dates somewhere in the 60's.

I'll be interested to see the photos.

There were inbetween model #'s that seemed to have been only sold in the Japanese market.....Your 521 appears to be one of them...
I agree with the previous poster....probably made in the mid-60s ...
Unable to find any info on this particular machine.....Please post photos....this will allow us to help you....as there are probably similarities to other machines models of this era that we are familiar with....

Check for a manual from this site: http://machineknittingetc.com/brother-knitking/machine-manuals.html
Machine Knitting Etc. also has magazines and pattern books.
My first knitting machine was the Brother 551, a later model than yours, which I bought new in 1968.
I'm not seeing that much difference between the 521 and the 551.....
The 551 has the newer sinker plate assembly and the newer tension mast .....none of which would effect using the manual for the 521.....
But I am not finding the 551 manual on the above site you mentioned...

Here are pictures of the KR-321. It's not a KH-321 after all.
The weights are very nicely made....little pieces of art. The instruction book is in Japanese. The box had never been opened before I picked it up a few days ago. There are small cracks on the ends of the beds...deeper than hairline, but don't go all the way through.

I have the KH 521 to go with it. I am assuming this main bed will work with the ribber....it's hard to find any information on models this old. I will try to post pictures of the KH 521 this week.

I have just updated the manual for the Brother 551 at http://machineknittingetc.com/. I imagine it will take a while for the file to appear on the site.
