It looks like the back of this bonnet matches yours, maybe you can work with it
Hello, Beaz. Thank you so much for looking. That's a cute pattern and you are right that the back is the same. I've actually been working the last couple days on the bonnet pattern and nearly have it figured out. Just the bottom ribbing to go and then I'll make another one to test the pattern and tweak it a bit. Thanks again for looking for the correct pattern, though. I really appreciate it. <3

Perhaps you got your answer, but my concern with your pic is that the booties are very small in proportion to the cap/bonnet. I would consider adding an extra strand or even doubling the yarn.
I liked Shayne's link. Beehive is known for many hats, booties, and jackets for babies. Most older or longer term online or brick front stores have them. I used to order them from a source in Canada, and so I am assuming that the UK would also be helpful. Etsy may have more offerings of this type as retro patterns are often offered there. I made many a set along with matinee jackets for my DD before she was born. There are also vintage books that have large baby collections.

I was thinking the CA store was Beehive but then thought my memory messed with the knitting patterns.

I like Inox/Prym circular knitting needles in spite of the crimp in them so ordered full sets from them in the past.

All these years, and I didn't know Beehive Wool Shop put out patterns for babies. I know them for scarves and cowls. I will have to go on a Ravelry search. Do you have one of theirs to recommend? Was the matinee jacket one of their?

Beehive Wool Shop is a store in Victoria, BC, Canada. A beehive is the logo for some Patons yarn, and they produced patterns for all ages and sizes.

Yes, I know it well. There used to be stores in other cities too. In the 50s ours was downtown, then moved to an outlier district, and has since closed. We used to say "I got this yarn at the Beehive". That was why I was surprised that Elation said the Victoria store had baby patterns.

Before merging with Patons, Beehive was a yarn and pattern producer. More recently, it was absorbed by Yarnspirations.

I have no idea if the Beehive yarn company was ever connected to the similarly named store in B.C.

Every store that sold yarn had those Beehive pattern books. I had a large selection of those books, from baby to adult, but parted with most of them before this last move. They show up now in thrift, consignment stores, and yard sales.

I still have my collection of Beehive/Patons/etc. booklets, mostly acquired in eBay’s early (individuals selling, not companies) days, but that’s only because our last (final, if I have my way!) move was 1998.

I have some old Beehive patterns for babies, put out as booklets with several patterns in each. I find them very good. some are marked Beehive by Patons. Some don't have Patons prominently but the logo is there
Handknits for Babies by Beehive Book 78
Baby Styles by Beehive series 41, 82, 35
Quickerknits for Babies 76
Baby Sets 65
Beehive for Baby 150
Pretty Baby 420

Maybe they will show up somewhere still, it says there is a Beehive Knitters Library of books and leaflets .probably not now but you never know. Prices on them are 40cents and 50 cents but no dates..

I am not sure that Beehive online store is the same as Beehive patterns. It would be a hunt to find the patterns I have. I am thinking that Beehive patterns might be from the UK? I don't remember seeing a TM on either place, and the word itself is pretty common. I would have to investigate but don't have time right now.

I think your best bet is searching Beehive Baby Patterns on Etsy or eBay. At least that is where I would start. You could even try posting an 'ISO' in SewItsForSale. Though it. more a sewing site, knitting and related comes up in sale and seeking. Just beware that the owner is a stickler via the rules.

Well, I poked around Ravelry and learned a lot from all of you. Thanks.

The Knitting & Crochet guild has the Patons library and members can download patterns.
