I am busy crocheting a cushion cover and was wondering how successful it would be to use Velcro on the overflap. Would it catch too much?
I would appreciate any comments/advice
Thnx in advance
Please don't do that. I made a very pretty camel colored sweater when I went to Scotland and then took my money pouch I carry around my neck. It has a velcro flap. Oh my, it did a number on my sweater.

Thnx Chickkie _ I thought this may be the case but thought someone might have another "closure" idea other than buttons & zips. I was thinking of folding over and using Velcro but I'm sure you're right it will make an unholy mess.

Cakes...Thnx for yr input - I didn't think that snaps would be strong enough and would keep popping open? Do you know if there are really large ones avail in Aus? Possibly Upholsterer? Unfortunately I'm isolated and have to mail order.

lincraft have them large enough for your job. would you like me to send you a little card of them? silver or black? that will be your Xmas gift from me!

almost 1/2 inch.I don't do metric yet LOL

I don't think you want to use Velcro. It will tear the yarn to pieces if it catches just one little bit of the yarn. I was carrying my yarn in bag that had a Velcro closure and I had to cut the yarn to get it away. I would just slip stitch or single crochet it together. Good luck. Nancy

snaps, snap tape or crocheted ties is what I use. Depends on the particular cushion / pillow and where it will be / what it is used for. Velcro is a nightmare.

I am making a knitted ottoman cover, and thought I'd use velcro too. My knitting instructor said, "ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!" The velcro will create a MESS of EPIC proportions.

I like the idea of snaps. I was going to do a zipper, but I think I like snaps much better. Great idea. Thanks!
