Have you looked under prayer shawls-this one is from Ravelry

I have been looking for more of a cape for men who are wheelchair bound.
Most of them look too feminine.
The long, wider than a scarf can work but I wanted something that wouldn’t interfere with wheelchair wheels, IV’s, heart monitors, … and stay closed around the body.
The ones I crochet for women are definitely feminine looking, even in masculine colors.

I did see a Sherlock Holmes cape, once, made to be full length with a double collar … but I just couldn’t tell if it would be comfortable with the double collar. But know I can’t find the knitted pattern.
Think I will have to ‘wing’ it.

Ravelry: Basketweave Poncho pattern by JanetLee L. Sokol

This is one of my patterns. I have made them for men in the wheelchair and they love them. Give it a look.

I have searched online and can not locate a man's shawl pattern for a 5'11" man.
Any one have any ideas or patterns?
Knit or crochet..... I can work both types.
THANKS!!!!! in advance.
There is a free pattern online for a wheelchair wrap. It starts wit a chain 54. Each row increases 8 stitches and is 30 rows.

These?
I have looked at those …. Somehow, the nursing homes think that crochet looks too feminine. I have gone through the knitted wraps and capelets on Ravelry and downloaded several patterns. I just need to pick through them.
The idea is that the longer, rectangular wraps tend to slide off the shoulders and be too long and unwieldy for wheelchairs.
I think rectangular across the back is fine but I need some kind of triangular ‘gusset’ at the shoulders to help it stay in place.

Serape? While traditionally they are just a rectangle with a hole in the centre, they can also be made with a slit from neck opening down the front. I finished one last year: Ravelry: JessicaJean's Poncho

I had made the Wheelchair Wrap mentioned above but was never happy with how it draped over the upper arms.
Someone here had posted a request, several years ago, for an 8 wedge wrap that her grandmother had owned.
Another member and worked on revising the pattern and we each came up with wraps that were almost identical and hers really was closer to the one that the KP member had posted here. 8 smaller wedges, draped better.

Umpteen years ago, I knit myself a really oversized shawl. Assorted whites broken up by bands of assorted variegated yarns. When my son requested a shawl, I showed him it, and upstairs it went. Adult male, 6’3”, wanted it and used it.
