I used Knitpicks Diadem fingering yarn in the Amethyst Colourway. I used about 697 yards, knit with size 4 needles. Blocked size was 58" x 25". This is for my daughter.
I really enjoyed this pattern with its unusual stitches, picot edging and the beading incorporated into the pattern. Until I blocked it, I did not realize there was a striping in the yarn, but I think it is subtle enough that it looks good with this particular design.
This yarn is now discontinued. I did not enjoy knitting with it, as it had a tendency to split, but is lovely and soft and I like the finished effect very much.
