Looking for a sweater pattern I made many years ago. I think it might have been in a Workbasket magazine. Here what I remember:

1. It was knit 4or 5 purl 2 or 3 on the right side.
2 had pockets
3. Buttons bands were knitted as you did fronts not added after
4. I believe didn’t have a collar but could be wrong
5 used knitting worsted ysrn
6 buttoned up the front

All I know it was my favorite sweater.

Could you provide a photo of your sweater, even an old photo of you wearing the sweater. The stitch pattern you describe sounds like it could be a form of broken rib stitch pattern.

Unfortunately, the work basket site does not show or give you the patterns for six most of the 60s and early 70s. I know that was the timeframe that I needed it and I do not have a picture of the pattern.

Unfortunately, the work basket site does not show or give you the patterns for six most of the 60s and early 70s. I know that was the timeframe that I needed it and I do not have a picture of the pattern.

They do have the entire collection, but the newer ones are still in the scanning process. If you could narrow down the date or issue number you could contact APL and they will tell you where that issue stands in the scanning process. They have been known to prioritize scanning based on requests for specific volumes. Other than that you might be looking for a needle in a haystack.

I'm Sorry. They are a fantastic resource for any antique craft books, not just Workbasket Magazines and not just knitting and/or crochet. The Workbasket collection is a fairly new project. I think it was within the last 5 years that they were donated nearly the entire collection. I'm amazed at how many Workbaskets they have scanned to date. They are still missing some issues, between 1980-1996, if anyone knows of someone willing to donate or scan.

Not necessarily. You know it is Woman's Day 101 Sweaters You Can Knit". There are websites that have scanned versions of Woman's day magazines. You might try the Internet Archive Internet Archive: Digital Library of Free & Borrowable Texts, Movies, Music & Wayback Machine
I know there are other online libraries, like Southampton University https://southampton.on.worldcat.org/discovery, but I'm on my way out the door right now and don't have time to search.
