I have been using this Yarn Ball Holder for several years and I love it! there are several kinds out there, mostly on Etsy, It works very smoothly with just a tiny tug of you hand ,never letting go of your yarn.
There are several different versions on Amazon and you can look at reviews people have shared. I bought the Chiagoo Butler years ago when it was not at all expensive and it's a joy to use. After an evening of my yarn bounding around my yarn bowl, I'm tempted to invest in one of these. Any suggestions as to the best one, brands to avoid?
I also have that brand as well and love it. The cheaply made one that I got on clearance when Beverly’s closed down has fallen apart. I guess you get what you pay for. There are several different versions on Amazon and you can look at reviews people have shared. you don't have to rewind the yarn. I also sometimes (depending on how the factory winds the skiens) work from the inside. It works very well either way.I work from the inside of a skein. Won't work for me as I don't plan on rewinding anything but hanks.
I am wondering, you do not need to wind the yarn into a ball and then just slide yarn on the post.I have been using this Yarn Ball Holder for several years and I love it! there are several kinds out there, mostly on Etsy, It works very smoothly with just a tiny tug of you hand ,never letting go of your yarn. No, I never needed to rewind a skein. I've never tried to use a Jumbo size skein on it but a normal size like Red Heart yarn or Bernat yarn in a skein fits nicely over the top. It also works great for yarns that came in hanks that I've prewound into cakes, the cake slides over so I think of it as a very versatile yarn holder.I am wondering, you do not need to wind the yarn into a ball and then just slide yarn on the post.
Me too and I have "socks" that I put around the outside so as it gets less on the inside the sock holds it together.I work from the inside of a skein. Won't work for me as I don't plan on rewinding anything but hanks.
