I ordered Fun-to-Knit Doll Clothes from Amazon.com. It has some very cute items for 18 inch dolls such as AG dolls. I have made one outfit and am very happy with it. My grand daughters love it too which is what counts. I'd show you but I don't know how. Sorry.

I too have been knitting for the American Girl Doll. Did you use a book for your patterns. I've just been using a book by Auntie's Attic. Love your work.

You are so talented. I like the "shrug" pattern for doll and child...my triplet grandchildren (two girls and one boy) are 7 years old. Of of them is the AG doll "friend"...so I'd like that pattern...is it one you made up or in a book...do you share?

Rita, What book do you have for AG doll clothes?
Actually the book was available at Amazon.com, It also says AanniesAttic.com and the title is Knitting Fun-to-Knit Doll Clothes Designs by Audro Knight-Bowman Publisher is House of White Birches Publisher has an email address too at customer_service@whitebirches.com. The patterns aren't hard, and fit the doll well. The particular book I have, (there are other books too for AGD or 18" doll) has a Sundress and Hat , Cheerleader outfit and a sweater and pants on the cover. Hope you enjoy if you find it. I like it.

What a coincidence. That is the only book I have already. I made the white dress from this book and it came out great . The only problem I had was the bottom of the dress curls a bit even after wetting . . .(stockinette stitch syndrome?) Maybe I got messed up with the cast=on and first row. I think if I put a row of single crochet around it now, it might help. Not sure. I also had a little trouble with picking up stitches on the arm piece to make a ruffled edge. Should have crocheted that too, instead. The pattern was easy, it's just me who needs to learn more. Planning to try a couple more soon.

If you have any other books to share titles of, let me know. Thanks,
Sue

Hi back! There are a couple more books, one for Crochet, have you seen that one? It was on Amazon too. You can go there and look at it. I think there is another one for knitting too. I made the sundress, probably told you, and it tended to curl too with the three rows of knit in the beginning. But, with gentle steam iron press, it seems to be okay. Not sure how it will look when I put all the pieces together. That is my next step. LOL I am bummed, I just finished a hat for myself, and it is too big, looks pretty funny...good a for a "laugh". I think if I add elastic thread to the ribbing, maybe I could keep it from falling in my eyes. So much for a warm head for the rest of winter...guess it is good that Spring is on it's way. Stay tuned, I'll try to let you know if it turns out. Thanks for chatting with me. Let me know if you find any other AGD things. I've got all the sewing patterns for the AGD that I can stand. I'll never get to all of them....Have a good day! Rita Lee
